After independence on education we can say that it has improved so much . In ancient period there were pathsals and gurukuls were boys went to study . In the gurukuls rich parents send their boys to study with some special teachers and live with them just same as mordern day boarding schools . At that time girls were not educated due to social customs . But after our social reformers like Mahatma Ghandhi motivated and inspired and then at the sixteenth century girls also started education. Education is the key to success. we all must study . Education allows us to create our own image.

Answer:

The government, when it revised the national policy for education in 1986, resolved that all children who attained the age of 19 years by 1990 would have five years of formal schooling or its equivalent. Plans were also made to improve or expand adult and nonformal systems of education.

During the period of planning there has been expansion of general education. In 1951, the percentage of literacy was 19.3. In 2001 the literacy percentage increased to 65.4%. The enrolment ratio of children in the age group of 6-11 was 43% in 1951 and in it became 100% in 2001.
