Answer-

■ There is a slim chance that microbial life exists on Mars today, perhaps under the planet's ice caps or in subsurface lakes detected by spacecraft like the European Space Agency's Mars Express. Locations like these could protect life from the harsh conditions on the planet's surface. Cumulative evidence suggests that during the ancient Noachian time period, the surface environment of Mars had liquid water and may have been habitable for microorganisms. But, the existence of habitable conditions does not necessarily indicate the presence of life.

In past years,Mars used to look quite similar to Earth.There were certainly similarities between Mars and Earth.More,Scientists believe that Mars once had a huge ocean. This ocean, experts believe, covered more of the planet’s surface than Earth’s own oceans do so currently.
