Television (TV) is a telecommunication medium used for transmitting moving images in monochrome (black and white), or in colour, and in two or three dimensions and sound. The term can refer to a television set, a television program ("TV show"), or the medium of television transmission. Television is a mass medium for advertising, entertainment and news.
Television became available in crude experimental forms in the late 1920s, but it would still be several years before the new technology would be marketed to consumers. After World War II, an improved form of black-and-white TV broadcasting became popular in the United States and Britain, and television sets became commonplace in homes, businesses, and institutions. During the 1950s, television was the primary medium for influencing public opinion.[1] In the mid-1960s, color broadcasting was introduced in the US and most other developed countries. The availability of multiple types of archival storage media such as Betamax, VHS tape, local disks, DVDs, flash drives, high-definition Blu-ray Discs, and cloud digital video recorders have enabled viewers to watch pre-recorded material—such as movies— at home on their own time schedule. For many reasons, especially the convenience of remote retrieval, the storage of television and video programming now occurs on the cloud. At the end of the first decade of the 2000s, digital television transmissions greatly increased in popularity. Another development was the move from standard-definition television (SDTV) (576i, with 576 interlaced lines of resolution and 480i) to high-definition television (HDTV), which provides a resolutionthat is substantially higher. HDTV may be transmitted in various formats: 1080p, 1080iand 720p. Since 2010, with the invention of smart television, Internet television has increased the availability of television programs and movies via the Internet through streaming video services such as Netflix, Amazon Video, iPlayer, Hulu, Roku and Chromecast.

Television was one of the great invention of science. According to me it is wonderful gift of science. T.V is very useful as well as have some bad effects on our life and health.
Good effects of T.V ..⬇⬇
➡ It provides good recreation to the viewers.
➡ There are also so many channels or shows which provides educational shows also which can greatly help students.
➡ Quiz type shows can increase their General Knowledge.
➡ News shows helps us to understand what's going on in world and our surrounding.
➡ We can also see different countries on T.V.
➡ T.V provide different types of cultural programmes like music, drama, dance, and speeches.
➡ Channels like sports, music, animal life, nature, scientific experiments, etc. helps students to gain knowledge.
Bad effects of T.V... ⬇⬇
➡ Both young and old get addicted Of T.V.
and students neglect their studies.
➡ Childrens glued their eyes on T.V which can harm theirs eye.
➡ According to researcher's watching T.V more than 2 hours can stop the development of our brain properly.
➡ Mostly childrens used to watch T.V instead of playing outside which can badly effect on their health.
➡ Those commercial increases interest of children toward fast food which is not good for their health.
As we know using things in right manner and in some limit is always useful for us. Hence we can neglect those disadvantage of T.V if we use it properly. Using something has some limit. Using it too much leads us to many problems. So, T.V is the good device for me atleast.
