Answer:

What is the Middle East crisis all about?

Firstly it is difficult to answer as you have bundled a lot of questions in one. Still I would take a fair risk!

Middle East has been in a continuous political turmoil since decades. There are many conflicting issues like ethnic diversity, individual interest of various sects, no proper sensible demarcation of boundaries across this nations right since the colonial rule, political and economic interest of various superpowers, inefficient existing political structures in the form of dictatorial rule, wars on these lands, emigration and propulsion of self ruling groups are some of them to mention. All this has led to distortion of ordinary life in this countries.

Majority of them cannot be called as countries as the resident are not rooted with the concepts of nationalism ( Iraq )

There have been constant world-echoes on formation of separate state for Jews. It has been one the key points to gain support of people during Second World War. U.S. is a prime supporter for this formation of state ( Israel Palestine conflict)

Many dictatorial powers in this region has oppressed people for decades to now bear the whip lash by the ones who were oppressed. Public support has got the cruelty to face. This has led to the ouster of dictators of many forced nations. This had led to Arab spring.( gaddafi, morsi, Saddam etc) . However stable governments are yet not formed with different political biases.

There are different diverse ethnic diversity with no common bond for holding them together; not even nationalism. This can be traced to an err in demarcation of boundaries by colonial powers. Hence small self governing groups can be found in various pockets spanning geographical locations.
