Let us know about the electromagnetic spectrum (In general) :-

Arrangement of different types of electromagnetic radiations in order of their increasing or decreasing (wavelength and frequencies ) is known as electromagnetic spectrum .

Some related points to be noted are as follows :-

  • Electromagnetic spectrum contains electromagnetic waves or radiations differ with respect to wavelength and frequency.
  • Since the product of these that is velocity of light is constant this means that the greater the wavelength smaller will the frequency and vice versa.
  • The wavelength of the electromagnetic waves increase in the order that is wavelength increases in the following order:-

cosmic \: rays \:  <  \gamma  - rays < x - ray < ultraviolet \: ray \:  <  visible \:  < infrared \: rays \:  < microwaves < radiowaves \:
