when sher singh reaches the second river , he finds all his hopes shattered . he thought it would be easier to cross the 2nd river due to the presence of a bridge. but unfortunately , the river was flooded and to make matters worse a huge mass of snow broke down the bridge. sher singh plaited a rope with grass and in the process cut his fingers. he then stepped in water. it was icy cold. he tried to keep kunwars head above water  and thats how they crossed the river
