Smartphones are phones with superior technology. They come with excellent features that go beyond the basic phone’s capabilities.
A smartphone is a type of cell phone that can do many of the things that a computer can. These cellular phones can usually, for instance, access the internet and take photographs, as well as letting you video chat with friends and loved ones.
Smartphones are small enough to fit in your pocket. However, they carry the strength of a home desktop computer. In addition, smartphones have several physical features that set them apart from regular mobile phones. Perhaps the key difference is the fact that smartphones have a touch-screen.
As their name suggests, smartphones are usually thought to be ‘smarter’ than regular cell phones.

Introduction : Smartphone is a type of mobile phones which is more or less capable to do all the jobs of a full scale computer. The majority of the modern smartphone is a touch screen based electronic device with all the above mentioned functionalities.
Features : As we discussed before, a smartphone can do all the jobs of a computer. We can also do additional things like, photography,phone calling, video calling, sms communication, on the go networking communication, using flashlight etc.
Benefits : The jobs which can be done by a computer is very important in the modern world. But, there is a drawback of the computers, that it lacks efficient portability feature. But, the smartphones fill that portability gap, because we can do all the computer jobs in a much more smaller and compact device, that fits in our pockets. Due to the enough availability and affordability of a smartphone, now a wide range of population is getting attached with the modern digital world, which is surely a good thing.
Disadvantages : The biggest disadvantage of the smartphone is the smartphone addiction. People, especially the younger generation are getting much addicted to the digital world of gaming,social media etc, by their smartphones. This addiction is affecting their real life jobs and even causing physical problems due to prolonged screen usage.
Conclusion : In the above discussion, we came to know that smartphones have both positive and negative sides. We should go towards the positive sides only, in order to properly utilise this advance technology.
