Along the course of school life, I have come across many caring teachers and a few dedicated principals. However, one man stood head above shoulders over the rest, and he is none other than Mr Mohd Ardani Bin Yunos. He was the principal of my secondary school, SM Sains Bagan Datoh.
We can see this amazing man's sheer passion for teaching through his leadership qualities. It can be clearly seen through countless school projects whereby no problems were insurmountable for him. He has committed his entire career to enriching the lives of the pupils under his charge.
Mr Ardani worked very closely with the Parent-Teacher Association to bring about changes to our school. Since ours was a remote school, our principal was faced with the tough job of having to provide many basic necessities including common toilets, This visionary leader organised a charity film premiere and raised RM12 000 for the school in order to provide most of the necessary facilities needed by the students.
When he was first post to our school, his heart was moved when he saw many malnourished students. Some even fainted during assembly. Many could not afford a decent breakfast or a proper lunch. Instead of waiting for help from authorities, this bold man enlisted the aid of a local company to supply free bread, biscuits, and nutritious food daily under a breakfast scheme. Almost immediately, we cold see the changes in the happy and healthy faces of students who became more motivated to study, now that their stomachs were full!
