blood is a fluid present in the human body.It helps in transportation of oxygen,haemoglobin,etc..
Why do we need blood?
water, oxygen and other materials are not directly transported around the body.It is transported through blood.Blood consists of two parts:Plasma and cellular part.plasma is the fluidic part, with a ph value of 7.4,slightly alkaline, and cellular part consists of RBC,WBC and platelets.Apart from circulation, diffusion of gases between capillaries is conducted by blood.
Blood type:
blood has many different types of classification, but the main types are based on
(1)RH positive or negative
(2)A,B or 0 type(on basis of antigen and antibody)
vascular organ:
heart is the organ which "controls" the blood flow.It pumps blood around the body.
RBCs:
known as red blood cells, they are biconcave, have no nucleus, and hence easily transport oxygen and haemoglobin without loss.Millions of red blood cells are destroyed everyday by our body.Their lifespan is 120 days.
WBCs:
white blood cells, conduct phagocytosis, and protect the human body from most of the germs.
platelets:
prevent the loss of blood during an injury,by forming a "plug" in the injured part
