The local paperboy, Tom Sky, an upcoming senior, loves his job. He got it through the school he goes to, Baskin Eagles High was in need of one. It paid well and he needed the exercise anyway, so why the heck not? He lived in a rural town called Cantinoble. It wasn't that big, but the people where nice so who was he to complain? He lives with his mom and sibling, so when his route started he had to be quite as to not wake them up. It was all to early for him at first, but he got used to it. 6 am is too early for anyone, he thinks. He joined the local high school newspaper in hopes of being a journalist, his true ambition. He's always been good at writing, so why not try out? He can't lie, he was a bit disappointed when they stuck him as a paperboy, but he has to start somewhere, right?
"Why, Tom, they wrote about you in the paper! Youre a local celebrity!" his mother cheered happily. "I'm so glad for you, tom! youre such a nice boy, and you always work hard to achieve your goals! you'll be climbing the ladder of popularity at your school now! Oh, im so proud!"
