To find:

The amount Deshaun invested in Fund B

Solution:

Let $ "x" be the amount invested in Fund B so the amount invested in Fund A will be $ "3x".

We have,

The profit returned from Fund A is 7% i.e., it gives a profit of 7% of the investment done in the Fund A

∴ Amount of profit from Fund A = $\frac{7}{100}* 3x$ = 0.07 * 3x = $ 0.21x

and

The profit returned from Fund B is 4% i.e., it gives a profit of 4% of the investment done in the Fund B

∴ Amount of profit from Fund B = $\frac{4}{100}* x$ = 0.04 * x = $ 0.04x

Now,

Total profit from the two funds = [Profit from Fund A] + [Profit from Fund B]

⇒ 2000 = 0.21x + 0.04x

⇒ 2000 = 0.25x

⇒ x = $\frac{2000}{0.25}$

⇒ x = $ 8000

Thus,
