Krishna Pushkarulu is a holy festival celebrated once in every 12 years at each of the 12 major rivers in India. Every 12 years large number of devotees will dip in Krishna river which is a holy river for Hindus. Vijawada in Andhra Pradesh state is the main place for  Krishna Pushkaralu. This yaer nearly 3.5 crore people are expected to take holy dip in river Krishna. A daily "harati" programme is being organized at Ibrahimpatnam near Vijayawada where the Godavari flows into Krishna. Cultural progammes have been planned for in various places.
