Design a suitable circuit represented by the box shown below which has input and output waveforms as indicated

Design is shown in the image attached .

  • So, the suitable circuit represented by the box is series negative clipper with negative bias . When this particular circuit is used the input waveform, whether it is sine or square waveform, would be clipped in the negative side.
  • What is a clipper ? a clipper is a circuit which removes unwanted part of the waveform and transmits only desired or required part of the waveform
  • As shown in the above image , if want to remove or clip the lower part of the waveform with the desired voltage level , you can do it by using this series negative clipper with negative bias.
  • Actually there are many clippers , some of them are series positive clipper , series negative clipper , shunt positive clipper , shunt negative clipper . these can be used with positive and negative voltage bias also. There is another clipper which clips at two independent levels.
  • In the above clipper we use a silicon diode , a resistor , and a voltage supply.

Hence above shown image is the circuit required in the box.
