for the ( a+b)^2....we can initiate an activity by cutting 4 shapes on paper..... a square 4by4 , another square 7by7, 2 rectangles 4by7 and join them...ans is to form a bigger square....thus (a=4,b=7) and (4+7)^2= 4 square +7 square+2(4)7... hence proved.
