Aim: To show that heat is transferred form one metal rod to another metal rod by conduction.

Apparatus required: 2 metal rods, A candle, A pair of tongs.

Procedure: One of the metal rods were taken and it was heated over a candle flame. It was held with a pair of tongs. After the rod was heated, it was kept in close contact with another rod for sometime.

Observation: After sometime it was observed that the heat from the hotter rod  is transferred to the cooler rod. After sometime more both the metal rods reached the thermal equilibrium state.

Conclusion: Condution takes place in case of metals.
