Design an activity to show that stem is responsible for water conduction

take a twig of any plant and cut roots of it. dip the stem half in the a beaker with water and leave it in sunlight for 3 to 4 days after that it is is seen that nothing happens to plant this shows that stem conducts water and it will transport water from the beaker to the leaves. this can also be shown by the level of the beaker will be reducing.
