this is because bishop's character is so different from persome . Bishop was a kind and genuine person but we can find some ironical charecter in persome

bishop was kind hearted man while persome was not that much kind.....bishop was always ready to help anybody....he did not have money so he gave away his properties to others....he sold the salt cellars which were in their family for a long time...and when persome heard this she got very angry....he even gave away his candlesticks to the convict.....but persome is just opposite....she thinks that people take advantage of her brother's kindness...
