'The Enemy'

The greatest religion of the world is 'Service to Mankind'. 'Service' overcomes all barriers. Race, creed, religion and prejudices all volatise in the spirit of service.

In the story 'The Enemy' by Pearl S Buck, Dr. Sadao Hoki is a very trustworthy, reputed and patriotic doctor of Japan. The story is set in the background of the World War when America was the most bitter enemy of Japan.

Sadao was respected by all and served the General of Japan. At this juncture he comes across a young wounded senseless American soldier . Overcoming his prejudice and keeping his hatred aside he save's his life and fulfils the duty of a doctor.

All of us should be like Sadao. Tolerance towards each other is the greatest tool of peace. It is not only foolish but also a crime to be intolerant towards people of other race, religion, nationality or creed.

We must remember that all of us are the creations of that single Creator-God. Though we call Him by different names and worship Him in different ways yet He is one and the only one.

Our true love for Him will be exhibited only when we love all equally and are tolerant towards each other and remember, 'Service to Mankind is service to God.
