Despite the implementation of various programmes for the eradication of poverty by the government in India, poverty is still existing in the largest part of Indian country.
The poverty is most evident in the rural areas and the slums in India. The existence of poverty in India may be due to the following reasons.
- Unemployment of most of the people in rural areas of India is a major contribution of poverty.
- Lack of relevant education hence skill are inadequate among the youth in India.
