The deteriorating environment in the Chure hills has been a matter of concern to all the people over the years. Excessive exploitation of the natural resources like the forests and other construction materials from the low hills located just above the flat plains has made the land here more fragile, which could result in landslides, floods and drying up of water resources. The Chure hills which were covered by dense forests until a few decades back have now virtually turned into barren lands with marks of innumerable landslips.
