The reign of Robespierre was known as the reign of terror because he tortured people who were not in favour of the democracy, Robespierre was so harsh that his supporters also demanded him to be polite and not to torture anyone, when Robespierre did not showed any moderatism his people also prottested against him and he was sentenced to death
