                             Destabilizing Forces within a Country

‘United we stand, divided we fall apart’, is a famous saying. Our country is a country of diversity of climate, physical features, peoples, ethnicities, religions, languages, cultures, etc. In such a scenario differences of ideologies and the ensuing clashes are quite a normal happening. However, many of the differences in ethnicities, religions, languages, and cultures have become so intense that they have assumed dangerous proportions for the national unity and safety.

India has been facing many destabilizing forces that are rising from within the country. The most alarming is the problem of terrorism. Most of the terrorist activities are being carried out by renegade rebels belonging to one particular religion because of fanatic indoctrination. For these rebels, their ideology is supreme; not their country! Hostile neighboring countries are taking undue advantage of such people and targeting them against India.

The second most nefarious destabilizing force within India is corruption. Like a cancer, it is eating the very health and vitality of the nation. The most despicable aspect of the problem is that it is flagrantly rampant in all the government departments, offices, and ministries. Almost every minister, bureaucrat, high official, unto the clerks and peons, all are mammon worshippers. India was placed at 76th position out of 168 countries with a score of 38 out of a possible 100 in Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index 2015. This is not letting India move faster towards prosperity and advancement.

The most detrimental destabilizing force is the poor and apathetic attitude of the people to their duties, responsibilities, and obligations to their motherland. Everyone just wants pleasure, fun, ease, comfort, and convenience at any cost even though it damage, spoiling, and tarnish the sanctity of the nation. No one wants to work; everyone just wants benefits! How will mammoth achievements be done without work, perseverance, dedication, and ethical standards?

We the people of India will have to improve ourselves if we have to be strong enough to overpower these destabilizing forces. Otherwise the consequences will be catastrophic!
