Hey!!!!
As promised I'm here
Corrosion Of metals according to class 10⤵️
=> The slowly eating up of the Metal by the effect of atmospheric gases like oxygen, hydrogen sulphide.etc is called Corrosion of metal.
According to class 10⤵️
1. Rusting of Iron
=> Rusting of Iron results in the formation of hydrated ferric oxide of brown colour.
=> 2Fe + xH20 + O2 ===> Fe2O3.xH2O
2. Tarnishing of Silver
=> Silver develops a black layer when exposed to air for a longer time.
=> This black layer is of silver sulphide.
=> 2Ag + H2S ===> Ag2S + H2
3. Corrosion of copper
=> Copper articles develop green layer of basic copper carbonate.
=> Cu + H2O + CO2 + O2 ===> Cu(OH)2.CuCO3
Prevention of Corrosion ⤵️
1. Painting = This prevents direct contact with air
2. Electroplating
3. Making Alloy
__________
Hope this helps ✌️
