Project Tiger is one of the successful operation launched by the government of India to protect tiger in the country the objective of this project was to ensure the survival and maintenance of the Tiger population in the country there was about 40000 Bengal tiger in 1910 there was a sub decline in their numbers to 1827 in 1972 the main reason for the extinction of tigers are hunting deforestation tame training of rivers for human needs realising this decline a project name Project Tiger was initiated in 1973 the project was funded by the world wide fund for nature the project focus on protecting Tiger habitats by creating sanctuaries and extending the existing one under this project there are 18 Tiger reserves in India ....
