In in DC Generator uni-directional current is produced .
In AC generator current is changed after equal intervals of time .
The difference between direct and alternating current is that the direct current always flows in One Direction where as the alternating current reverse its direction periodically .
Most power stations constructed 20 days produce AC .
In India desi changes direction after every 1 by hundred second that is the frequency of AC is 50 Hertz .
An important advantage of AC over DC is that electric power can be transmitted over long distances without much loss of energy .
