Elements of the model of Aristotle on Communication are discussed below:

Explanation:

Before 300 B.C., the Greek philosopher Aristotle proposed Aristotle's Model of Communication, which is a one-of-a-kind communication tool. In contrast to previous models, it is a linear paradigm that emphasizes public speaking over intimate communication.

  • The original model of communication was developed by Aristotle, and it is believed to be very simple and easy. It is depicted as a diagram and is currently utilized in the preparation of speeches, lectures, and seminars. The speaker and speech are vitally important in Aristotle's communication model, which is largely a speaker-centered approach. Speaker, Speech, Occasion, Audience, and Effect are the five basic elements that make up a speech.

Elements of the Aristotle Model of Communication:

  1. Ethos: In a communication paradigm, ethos is the trait that defines the speaker's credibility. It is a reality that if the speaker lacks credibility, his or her words will have no force on the audience, and so will fail to inspire and persuade them. Remember that the speaker's credibility, authority, and influence are based on their position and knowledge in a given subject. The speaker plays an essential role and must keep eye contact with the audience in order for his speech to be well received.
  2. Pathos: It is much easier to form a connection when there is an emotional bond. Pathos is a communication concept that allows a speaker to interact with an audience by using various emotions such as anger, sadness, happiness, confidence, and so on. Pathos is used by for-profit and non-profit companies, politicians, and others to address and connect with the emotions of their target audiences. In the scenario described above, politician Anand would use Pathos to connect with his audience by referring to his positive actions.
  3. Logos: Aristotle's communication model includes a component called logos, which represents reasoning. The audience will be influenced not just by the speech but also by the logic that underpins it. In Aristotle's communication paradigm, the speaker must use Logos to deliver figures and facts so that the listener might believe and, eventually, relate to him. Persuasion will only work to a certain extent unless it is accompanied by reasonable thought and accurate facts, in which case the combo is fantastic.
