Brahmaputra river has its sources in Southwest Tibet . It flows there with the name Yarlung Tsangpo River ( flowing from the crest / summit ). The rivers runs across south Tibet to penetrate the Himalayan mountain ranges in canyons & subsequently into Arunachal Pradesh (India).

The Brahmaputra River is the second longest and largest rivers in India and is also one of the major rivers of Asia. Brahmaputra is considered a male river (means named as male) while most of the rivers in India are considered female rivers. The river is about 2900 km long. Brahmaputra originates in southwestern Tibet where it is called Yarlung Tsangpo , the Siang and the Brahmaputra in India and the Jamuna in Bangladesh. It flows through two north-eastern Indian states, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.
The river is considered sacred by the Hindus as many mythological tales are associated with the river.
