-calcitonin is a hormone secreted by parafollicular cell also known as c-cell which are present in the stroma between follicles .
-action of calcitonin
*it helps in controlling the optimum level of calcium in our blood which is normally 10 milligrams/per 100 ml.
*it reduces calcium level in blood by activity of osteoclast
*it controls metabolism of calcium and phosphorus
*it decreases the reabsorption of Calcium from intestinal or kidney walls
