Benedict's test or Fehling's test:Take 5 0mL of Benedict solution and 1.0mL of simple sugar(carbohydrate) in a test tube and boil for 2 min.Acoloured precipitate is formed which shows the presence of carbohydate in it.

Take a food item and put Iodine solution (2-3 drops) on it. If it turns blue black the food item has carbohydrate present in it.
