The value of phase difference between the current and voltage depends on the inductive and capacitive reactances in the circuit. Here I am assuming it is a series LCR circuit. We will have three cases:

Case 1: Xl > Xc , here inductive reactance is greater, hence the circuit behaves as inductor with voltage leading the current.

Case 2: Xc > Xl , here capacitive reactance is greater, hence the circuit behaves as capacitor with current leading the voltage.

Case 3: Xc = Xl , here the circuit behaves as a pure resistive one with zero phase difference.
