Yuichiro13: They
Yuichiro13: Sorry

The letters 'a' , 'b', 'c' ... they're functions of 'x' ?
Yuichiro13: c = e^x [ ln ( 1 + x² ) ] - sin x cos x
Yuichiro13: Oops The one above is 'a' ??
Anonymous: No idea , I never understood
Yuichiro13: ^_^ Just learnt about how things worked

Differentiating within Matrices would be a lot easier !! Try doing that @rstar1
JinKazama1: a = 0 and b = -1
JinKazama1: Is it right ?

Final Answer :
a = 0 b = -1:

For Calculation see pic

Concepts :
1) Differentiation of determinants :
2) Value of Determinant:

Steps :
1) Put x = 0 : to get value of a .
2) Differentiate the original determinant and then put x = 0 to get b = -1.

Hope you understand my answer
