ESR stands for erythrocyte sedimentation rate.
1. This is one of the important diagnostic procedure followed to recognise many basic type of diseases.
2. It is said that if erythrocyte sedimentation rate increases there is one or other type of infection present in the body.
3. In order to perform this test blood sample is collected from the patient and is transferred into vertical tubes with markings and allowed the blood containing RBC for red blood cells to sediment at the bottom of the vertical tube.
4. The rate or time of sedimentation is calculated which decides about the presence of inconvenience in body.
