Determine if the following ratio form a proportion.
(b) 2 kg : 70 kg and 30 sec : 5 minutes

When the entities have differnt units, first convert them into same unit. After that, find the ratio.

1. 2 kg : 70 kg

Both have the same unit as kg. So,

2 kg : 70 kg

= 2 : 70

= 1 : 35

2. 30 sec to 6min

One has its unit as second and other has minute. So convert 5 min to seconds

5 min = 5 * 60 sec = 300sec

30sec : 5 min

= 30 : 300

= 1 : 10

We need to convert 5 min to sec.

Hence we need to find the ratio of 30sec:300sec
