The value of p if the line segment joining the points A(5, -6) and B(-11, p) is perpendicular to Y-axis

EVALUATION

Here the given points are A(5, -6) and B(-11, p)

Since the line segment joining the points A(5, -6) and B(-11, p) is perpendicular to Y-axis

So the line is perpendicular to Y axis

∴ The line is parallel to X axis

∴ The ordinate of the points A(5, -6) and B(-11, p) is same

Hence from above we can conclude that

 \sf{p =  - 6}

FINAL ANSWER

The required value of p is - 6
