Determine the empirical formula of an oxide of iron, which has 69.9% iron and 30.1% ​

Explanation:

Let us use general method:

Iron : 69.9% i.e; \frac{69.9}{53.5} = 1.3

Oxygen : 30.1% i.e;\frac{30.1}{16} = 1.8

So, divide by required least number i.e; 1.3 here.

Fe: 1.00     O: 1.38 aprox 1.00

So, formula of oxide is FeO.
