From figure ( i ) ,

1 ) Coordinates of point A(x1,y1)=(0,6),

B(x2,y2) = ( 5 , 0 )

*****************************************

We know that ,

Equation of a line joining the

points A( x1, y1 ) and B( x2, y2 ) is

( y - y1 )( x2 - x1 ) = ( y2 - y1 )( x - x1 )

*****************************************

( y - 6 )( 5 - 0 ) = ( 0 - 6 )( x - 0 )

=> ( y - 6 )5 = ( - 6 )x

=> 5y - 30 + 6x = 0

=> 6x + 5y - 30 = 0

2 ) Coordinates of points C( x1 , y1 )=(0,-3)

D( x2 , y2 ) = ( 2 , 0 )

Equation of the line CD .

[y - ( -3 )]( 2 - 0 ) = [ 0 - (-3)]( x -0 )

=> ( y + 3 )2 = 3x

=> 2y + 6 = 3x

=> 3x = 2y + 6

=> 3x - 2y = 6

Or

********************************

Equation of a line whose

x-intercept = a , y-intercept = b is

x/a + y/b = 1

*********************************

1 ) From figure ( i ),

a = 5 , b = 6

Equation of line AB,

x/5 + y/6 = 1

=> ( 6x + 5y )/30 = 1

=> 6x + 5y = 30

2 ) a = 2 , b = -3 ,

Equation of a line CD ,

x/2 + y/( -3 ) = 1

=>( 3x - 2y )/6 = 1

=> 3x - 2y = 6
