Let A ( x1 , y1 ) = ( -4 , 2 ) ,

B( x2 , y2 ) = ( 12 , -3 )

**************************************

We know the ,

Equation of a line joining the points

A( x1 , y1 ) and B( x2 , y2 ) is

( y - y1 )( x2 - x1 ) = ( y2 - y1 )( x - x1 )

*****************************************

Now ,

Equation of a line AB is

( y - 2 )[ 12 - ( -4) ] = ( -3 - 2 )[ x - 2 ]

=> ( y - 2 )( 12 + 4 ) = (-5)( x -2 )

=>( y - 2 )16 = -5x + 10

=> 16y - 32 = -5x + 10

=> 5x + 16y = 10 + 32

=> 5x + 16y = 42

Therefore ,

Required equation of the line ,

5x + 16y = 42
