In the first part there is a formation of Wheatstone bridge so the two resisters of the diagonal will be ignored...and by redrawing the diagram we can get the ans.

iamstarscream: wheatstone bridge...?
iamstarscream: can u help in solving the next question too.....?
akansha20006998: This topic is lil difficult to explain here just know that,
if you se a square with equal resistance on all its sides and same resistance on one of its diagonal then the diagonal resistance will be eliminated.

Hope this helps✌
iamstarscream: ok thanks , can u help in solving the second one
akansha20006998: This topic is lil difficult to explain here...just know that in your question, all the resistors on the sides of the square were of same resistance .i.e 6 Ohm and if the ratio of resistance of two consecutive sides is same to the other two i.e 6/6=6/6=1 so, the resistance of the diagonal will be eliminated as the potential of two opposite ends will be zero.
akansha20006998: Yup I'm trying
iamstarscream: ok
