AnsWer :

2 Ohm.

Given :

  • R1 = 3 ohm.
  • R2 = 6 ohm.

Concepts Required

  • Series Combination - Series Combination define as When Resistors follow only one path it said to be Series Combination.
  • Ex - Req R1 + R2 + R3 + R4....

  • Parallel Combination - Parallel Combination define as When Resistors follow different direction two or more it said to be Parallel Combination.
  • Ex - 1/R1 + 1/R2 + 1/R3 + 1/R4...

Solution :

We have

 \tt \dagger \:  \: \dfrac{1}{R_{eq}} = \dfrac{1}{R_1} +  \dfrac{1}{R_2} +  \dfrac{1}{R_3} +     \dfrac{1}{R_n} ...

Here,

  • Req = Equivalent Resistance.

Now,Putting the given value,

  \tt \longmapsto   \dfrac{1}{R_{eq}} = \dfrac{1}{3} +  \dfrac{1}{6}

 \tt \longmapsto  \dfrac{1}{R_{eq}}  =  \dfrac{1 + 2}{6}

 \tt \longmapsto  \dfrac{1}{R_{eq}}  =  \dfrac{\cancel3}{\cancel6}

 \tt\longmapsto  \dfrac{1}{R_{eq}}  =  \dfrac{1}{2}

 \tt\longmapsto R_{eq}  = 2\Omega .

Therefore, Equivalent Resistance in parallel Combination be 2 ohm.
