HELLO DEAR,

Given: An ionic solid in which cation p at alternate corners of the cube and anion Q are present at

             alternate face centres.

To find :- the formula of ionic solid.

Solution :- All the arrangement are happen on a cube.

                A cube have 8 corner

                 and each corner have 1/8 parts of atom

               then total number of atom present in cube of cation p= 8×1/8

                                                                                                       p= 1

           And a cube have 6 faces,

             each faces contain 1/ 2 parts of atom.

            Total number of anion Q at the all faces in cube = 6×1/2

                                                                                             Q= 3.

Therefore ionic formula is pQ3.
