Determine the length of base in the following triangles.
a) The base is equal to the height of triangle, and the area is 200 m²
b) The base is half the height, and the area of the triangle is 324 cm?.​

a) area of triangle = 1/2×b×h

200= 1/2×b² (as the height and breadth are of same length)

200= b²/2

200×2= b²

400= b²

b = √400

b = 20m

b) area of triangle = 1/2×b×h

324= 1/2×(1/2×h)×h (as breadth is half of height)

324=h²/4

324×4= h²

h² = 1296

h = 36cm

therefore, height of the triangle is 36cm

so base will be 36/2 = 18cm
