  • Length of rectangulat field=170m

  • Breadth of rectangular field=80m.

  • Fence is 25m outside the edge.

  • The perimeter of a rectangle is the length of its boundary hence it is given by 2l+2b where l is the length and b is the breadth. When fencing a rectangular field, if the fence is some metres outside the edge of the field, we add the difference to the length and breadth to find the perimeter of the fence and hence the length of the fence

Now,

Length of the inner field = 170 m

For the length of the rectangle formed by outer

fencing, we need to add 25 m twice the to the

length of the inner field since 25 m will be added

from both sides, hence = 170+25+25= 220 m

Breadth of the inner field = 80 m

Breadth of the rectangle formed by outer fencing = 80+25+25 = 130 m

Hence the length of the fencing = Perimeter of the outer fencing = 2(L+b)=2(130+220)=700m.

Hence, The length of fencing is 700m.
