==> (x - 1)(2x - 7) = 0
==> 2x² - 7x - 2x + 7 = 0
==> 2x² - 9x + 7 = 0
On comparing this Equation with the standard form of quadratic equation ( i.e., ax² + bx + c = 0 ) , We get
a = 2 , b = -9 , c = 7
Now,
Discriminant, D = b² - 4ac
==> (-9)² - 4×2×7
==> 81 - 56
==> 25
Here the discriminant is greater than zero, So the roots of this quadratic equation will be real and distinct.
