Hi, please consider the answer given below

In the detrmination of the number of bromide ions in 0.2 mole of MgBr2

We use the avogadros number 6.02 x 10^23

Number of molecules of bromide ions= No. of moles x Avogadros number

Number of molecules of bromide ions= 0.2 x (6.02 x 10^23)

= this gives 1.2 x 10^23 bromide ions.

number of mole of MgBr2 compound = 0.2 moles

so, number of molecules in MgBr2 compound = number of mole of MgBr2 × Avogadro's number
= 0.2 × 6.023 × 10²³
= 1.2046 × 10²³

but we see that one molecule of MgBr2 contains 2 atom of Br2
so, number bromide ions = 2 × number of molecules in MgBr2
= 2 × 1.2046 × 10²³
= 2.4092 × 10²³

hence, answer is 2.4092 × 10²³
