Substitute this is the equation x + y = 6

x + 2x = 6

3x = 6

x = 2

Now put this value of x in the first equation.

2 + y = 6

y = 4

The point on the graph of the linear equation x+y=6 whose ordinate is two times its abscissa is (2,4)
