The Pacific plate is isolating from the Cocos plate at around 110 mm (4.5 inches) every year. It is one of the quickest division rates anywhere. Somewhere else on the East Pacific Rise the Pacific plate is isolating from the Nazca and Antarctic plates at around 70 mm (almost 3 inches) every year. The Pacific plate is joining on different plates.

The mid Atlantic edge is opening up more gradually at around 25 mm (1 inch) every year.

A technique that happens at mid-ocean ridges where oceanic crust is made through volcanic eruptions and slowly moving away from ends.

Seafloor spreading and  tectonic activity processes are result of mantle convection.

Its convection is very little churning motion of mantle of earth.

Convection currents transmits heat from lower mantle and core to lithosphere.

Seafloor spreading happens at divergent plate areas.

Tectonic plates slowly move from each other thus heat from mantle’s convection currents makes crust more plastic and less intense.

Less-intense material rises often making a mountain of seafloor.

Hot magma fueled by mantle convection bubbles are filling these gaps and overflows the crust.

That bubbled-up magma is cooled by rigid seawater to make igneous rock.

Basalt rock becomes a part of Earth’s crust.
