Let, the required ratio k:1.

P = [-8k + (-3)/k+1, 9k + (-1)/k+1]

But,

P= (-6 , a)

= -8k +(-3)/k+1 = -6

= -8k - 3 = -6(k+1)

= -8k - 3 = -6k - 6

= -8k + 6k = -6-3

= -2k = -9

= 2k = 9

= k = 9/2

Hence,

ratio = 9:2

Putting value of k,

y = 9k +(-1)/k+1

y = 9 × 9/2 -1/ 9/2 +1

y = 81/2-1/9/2+1

y = 81-2/2 × 2/9+2

y = 79/11
