Determine the resistance of a coil connected to a 150 V supply when a current of

The relation between the voltage supplied,resistance(R) and current(i) is mentioned below

The relation between power dissipated,voltage and current is P=Vi

Using these relations we shall find the resistance and power dissipated.

(a)i=75mA

The resistance is calculated as follows

150=75\times10^{-3}R= > R=2000\Omega

The power dissipated is

P=150\times75\times10^{-3}=11.25W

(b)i=300uA

The resistance is calculated as follows

150=300\times10^{-6}R= > R=5\times10^{5}\Omega

The power dissipated is

P=150\times300\times10^{-6}=0.045W
