Determine the total number of atoms in one mole of CO^2 gas

Anonymous: moles=number of atoms /Avagadro numbers --------> number of atoms = moles ×avagadro numbers -----> number of atoms = 1×6.023×10^23 -------> number of atoms = 6.023×10^23
raheelanasir22: There are 3 atoms in one mole of co2

\huge{\texbf{\red{GIVEN}}}

Moles of carbon = 1mol

\huge{\texbf{\purple{REQUIRED}}}

Total number of atoms =?

\huge{\texbf{\orange{FORMULA }}}

Moles = Number of molecules /Avagadro number

\huge{\texbf{\black{SOLUTION }}}

First of all find number of molecules of carbon

Number of molecules of Carbon dioxide = mole of carbon × avagadro numbers

Number of molecules of Carbondioxide = 1 × 6.023×10^23

Number of molecules of Carbondioxide = 6.023×10^23

So number of molecules of Carbondioxide are 6.023×10^23

As we have found out number of molecules , So now we know that ,In CO2 there are 3 atoms (1 hydrogen , 2 oxygen) , multiply number of molecules with 3 to get number of atoms .

Number of atoms in one mole of CO2 are = 6.023×10^23×3 =18.096×10^23atoms

Hello mate.

Thanks for asking this question.

Your answer is =>

So ,

as you know that 1 molecule of CO_2 contains 1 atom of Carbon and 2 atoms of Oxygen.

so,

1 molecule of CO_2 contains total 3 atoms .

as you know that , 1 mol of any gas contains 6.022 \times 10^{23} molecules.

so ,

1 mol of  CO_2 contains 6.022 \times 10^{23} molecules of CO_2.

so ,

1 mol of CO_2 contains =>

=>[6.022 \times 10^{23} \times 3 ] atoms.

=>18.066 \times 10^{23} atoms.

so ,

one mole of CO_2 contains  \boxed {18.066 \times 10^{23}} \:atoms
