Determine the value of resistance R, if the power dissipated in 10 ohm resistor is 360 W in the circuit

P=I squared * R

40=I squared *5 ohms

8 = I squared

I = 2.8 Amps (for the 5 ohm resistor)

E= I*R

E= 2.8 A * 5 ohms

E= 14 volts (14 volts across the circuit)

I = 14 v / 10 ohms

I=1.4 amps (through the 10 ohm resistor)

P= 1.4 amps squared * 10 ohms

P = 19.6 Watts (dissipated by the 10 ohm resistor)
